Who we are

By Reem is a family-run home bakery offering online orders, pre-orders, catering and pop-ups. This page explains what happens with your information when you use our website. The short version: almost nothing. We built this site to be as private as a family kitchen.

What we collect

Our website has no user accounts and no analytics of its own. The only information we receive directly is what you type into our order, catering or raffle forms, and we only receive it when you press send. The one piece of tracking on the site is the Meta Pixel, explained in the ads section below.

One small exception: when you add items to your cart, the list of items is saved in your own browser's local storage so your cart survives between our menu page and checkout. It never leaves your device, we cannot see it, and it is cleared when you send your order (or whenever you clear your browser data).

Orders and inquiries

When you fill out our pre-order or catering form and press send, the information you typed (your name, phone number, delivery address, your order, your event details, and any notes) is emailed to us through a form-delivery service, Web3Forms, and saved in our private order book so we can bake, deliver and follow up. We keep order details only as long as needed to fulfil your order, handle any questions about it, and remember what your family loves. If you contact us on WhatsApp or Instagram instead, those platforms' own privacy policies apply to the message itself.

Ads, lead forms and the Meta Pixel

We sometimes run ads on Facebook and Instagram. If you fill in one of our forms inside such an ad (for example your name, phone number and the cake you are interested in), Meta passes that information to us. We use it only to reply to you about your order, we do not add you to any marketing list, and we do not share it with anyone else. Meta's handling of the information is governed by Meta's privacy policy. You can ask us to delete your details at any time by messaging us on Instagram.

Our site also uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that tells us whether our ads lead to visits and pre-orders. It sets a cookie in your browser and sends Meta the pages you view and, if you place a pre-order, the items and the order total. It never sends your name, phone number, address or anything else you type into our forms. Meta may link this activity to your Facebook or Instagram account to measure our ads and to show you our ads on its platforms. Meta explains this in its cookies policy, and you can opt out through your Facebook and Instagram ad settings or by blocking cookies from facebook.com in your browser. The site works fully without it.

What we do with your information

We use your order details to make your order, contact you about it, and nothing else. We never sell, rent, or share your information with anyone. We will never message you with marketing unless you have asked us to.

Allergy information

If you share allergy or dietary details with us, we use them solely to prepare your order safely. Please always tell us about serious allergies directly, on WhatsApp or Instagram, so we can confirm them with you personally.

The videos on our site

The home videos playing across our website are our own family's memories: the baker's parents, husband, sons, and dog. They are shared with the family's consent, and they are the whole point.

Third-party links

Our site links to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and WhatsApp. Once you leave our page, those platforms' own privacy policies apply. Our site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may log basic technical requests (like your IP address) when the font files are fetched.

Children

Our website is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If a child sends us an order, we will ask to speak with a parent before baking anything.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
